Château Pas de l'âne

An historic vineyard landscape

“Château Pas de L’Ane” is located in the Valley of 1000 Castles, just a few steps away from world-famous neighbors, between “Château Cheval Blanc” and “Château Figeac”.

A prestigious place

“Château Pas de L’Ane” was built in 1999 from a 1-hectare plot and has never stopped expanding since then. In 2006 Pas de L’Ane’s vineyard settled in the former Château Cros-Figeac also called Château Cros-Saint-Emilion (Edition de Féret de 1998). “Château Pas de L’Ane” is located just a few steps away from world-famous neighbors, between “Château Cheval Blanc” and “Château Figeac”. The 13-hectare vineyard spreads over 5 (out of 8) “Saint Emilion Grand Cru” appellation areas. This plot diversity ensures a remarkably varied geology (gravelly and ferruginous sands, clay-limestone soil…) and enables to produce 5 Saint Emilion Grand Cru wines.

The great diversity and quality of an outstanding terroir

Great care is constantly taken with our 35-year-old vines on average: integrated viticulture, disbudding, leaf stripping, green harvesting and cleaning of all harvesting equipment. When the estate was renovated we acquired a highperformance equipment to vinify and age wines in the best conditions (thermo-regulated stainless steel vats and airconditioned wineries with a humidity-control system).
